March 2024 — The program at the Bible school continues to grow. Thanks to the generosity of donors, a new classroom building has been completed and furnished; existing buildings are receiving updated wiring, updated plumbing and a new coat of paint; enrollment continues to be at capacity; the married student housing is at capacity; and plans continue to strengthen and expand the Christian atmosphere and biblically based instruction that is the core of the school.

March 2024 — The women’s vocational training is going well. Eight women passed the test and will receive sewing machines to start their business to help support their families.

March 2024 — We also were able to take vitamins and aspirin donated by members from Crockett, Texas.

March 2024 — We visited an older building in the Save area. Pictured is Clement, a 2001 graduate of the BTC who preaches at this location and then drives 35 KM to another location to preach again each Sunday. Virtually all who work with the congregations will travel by motorbike.

March 2024 — Pictured are Pasca and his wife Agnes. We visited with them at the Church of Christ building in Dassa. Because of the shortage of preachers, it is not uncommon for preachers to serve more than one congregation. Pasca speaks at five different congregations. He speaks at the first service in the first location beginning at 6:00 a.m. He will travel many miles to reach each congregation, with his day ending after 6:00 p.m.

March 2024 — As with all trips to Benin, we try to take advantage of the opportunity to visit with the congregations of the Lord’s church that have been established. Over the past two years we’ve been blessed to be able to visit over forty congregations. Many of these have 40-60 members, and virtually all of them have members who walk to church—sometimes as far as three to five kilometers.

March 2024 — During the last trip to Benin in January, we had the opportunity to travel to Parakou to visit with the students, administration, staff, families and friends of those involved with the Bible school.

February 2024 — Adjayi and his wife, Rebecca, were able to be in the U.S. for the September board meeting of French African Christian Education. While in the States, there was the opportunity visit with the Healing Hands staff in Franklin, Tennessee. There were great discussions, a tour of the facilities, and then a meal at a local Cracker Barrel Restaurant.

October 2023 — The Bible Training Center is a three year program. Each October a new semester begins with room for 20 students. The students must take an admission examination over the course of two days which determines if they are eligible to enter. After three years of rigorous coursework, the students leave BTC to establish congregations and work with existing congregations of the Lord’s church.
