Translated, this means “giving water is giving life.” Fresh drinking water is not something that most people in Benin have ready access to. During the rainy season, the rivers are flowing but the water is contaminated, and children are especially vulnerable.
Healing Hands International has partnered with BTC on many occasions to drill water wells on a property owned by the church and where a permanent church building is erected. Walk for Water is one of the ways the funds are raised for drilling wells.
Many congregations in the U.S. are familiar with Walk for Water. The Broadway Church of Christ in Paducah, KY, is one example of churches involved with this benevolent work. October 18 is the date for this year’s city-wide effort in Paducah.
A portion of those funds are set aside for the people of Benin, and BTC will be providing locations for water wells to bedrilled. Does your congregation participate? Giving water is giving life.
