It is our Lord’s desire that every person in every land have the opportunity to both hear and respond positively to the soul-saving message of the Gospel. The value of the human soul is incalculable. That is precisely what the Bible Training Center of Benin is seeking to do. For over 30 years, we have been about the business of soul-saving in French West Africa. God has tremendously blessed these efforts, and numerous congregations of the Lord’s church have been established. Untold numbers of individuals are now brothers and sisters in Christ, for which all the glory goes to our Heavenly Father.

The way we go about this awesome privilege of sharing the Gospel is based exclusively on what we read in the New Testament. The apostle Paul, realizing he was near the end of his life, penned some final admonitions to his young son in the faith, Timothy. In 2 Timothy 2:2, we have recorded for our example: “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” The most effective evangelism tool at each of our disposal is our knowledge of God’s Word and our ability to share it with others.

 

We are convinced that the best method of transferring Biblical knowledge from person to person is by training local individuals to share with other locals in their circle of influence. No one knows the unique customs of those nationals better than fellow citizens. This method has proven to be very successful.

Everything that we set out to accomplish through the Bible Training Center focuses on souls. Whether it is assisting with places for the young churches to meet and worship, providing Bibles in the local languages and dialects, instilling Biblical training in the Scriptures, or any number of other things—our goal is singular: to grow the borders of the kingdom.
